5 Important New Year Resolutions for Healthy Skin

With new year, a lot of us have prepared resolutions which may include more workout, career objectives, weight loss to list a few. But what we generally forget is skincare.

With all the resolutions that you may have made, add one more this year, skincare resolution. We are here with a few sets of goals to help you take care of your skin.

Some of the New Year resolutions that you should probably make for healthy skin are:

1. Moisturize your skin

The number 1 on our list and the most important of all is moisturizing your skin daily. Irrespective of dry or oily skin, a moisturizer is a must for everyone.

Choose an herbal moisturizer for good results.

If you have extra dry skin, you may try moha moisturizing lotion. With the goodness of Aloe, Almond oil and Sunflower oil, it moisturizes your skin, keeping it soft and supple.

2. Wear sunscreen daily

Sunscreen has no exception. Not even of winter. Yes, the winter sun can equally damage your skin. Irrespective of your age or gender, sunscreen protects your skin against harmful UV rays.

Choose a sunscreen with a wider SPF to get enhanced protection. Especially when you are heading towards a beach vacay or outdoor outing, apply generous amounts of sunscreen an hour prior you head out. Re-apply after every 2 or 3 hours or when required.

3. Eat foods for healthy skin

Great nutrition gives good skin glow!

A healthy balanced diet is a key to healthy skin.

Add food items such as green tea, grapes, veggies and spices like turmeric and cinnamon to your diet. Cut down on sugars and aerated drinks.

4. Use lukewarm or cold water for bathing

This may sound not so exciting for the hot water lovers, but it is indeed necessary for healthy skin. Hot water may feel good in the winter months but it strips the natural oil content of the body, resulting in more dryness. So we would recommend you to use lukewarm water and natural soaps/shower gels for bathing.

5. Removing makeup

Always remember to remove your makeup before you sleep. Make up along with the dirt accumulated on your skin the entire day can cause your pores to clog and may result in acne. Make it a habit to cleanse your face with a gentle facewash every night.

Other than these important resolutions, things which you can do are

  • Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water each day, to keep your skin hydrated
  • Clean your makeup brushes every week
  • Clean your pillowcases often, preferably every week

Stick to these resolutions for healthy skin.

We wish you all a very happy 2020!
